About Bellever
Welcome to Bellever Forest where you can enjoy the tranquillity of a picnic by the East Dart River or take an exhilarating walk to the stunning views from Bellever Tor.
Choose from one of the waymarked trails or join the historic bridleway, The Lich Way, to discover numerous important archaeological sites and the fascinating wildlife that Bellever has to offer.
The Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust is a registered charity dedicated to the preservation of the Dartmoor pony breed. Their Pedigree and approved Heritage Dartmoor Ponies graze the forest, helping to keep the vegetation down and create diverse grassland areas for wildlife. It is important to keep all gates shut in order to prevent cross-breeding with ponies from the surrounding area. Please do not feed the ponies.
