About Shining Cliff
Shining Cliff is a mixed woodland on an ancient woodland site and designated a S.S.S.I. Paths within the wood may be wet, but there is a waymarked trail for visitors featuring the remains of the "Betty Kenny Tree", an old Yew believed to be the source of the "Rock a Bye Baby" nursery rhyme.
How to get there:
Cromford is the nearest town or village.
Shining Cliff lies on the western bank of the River Derwent adjacent to the A6 between Belper and Cromford. Access to the wood is by public footpaths from minor roads at Alderwasley.
