A one-way, mile long forest drive winds its way up into the central core of Wendover Woods, past the pay and display machine. Fantastic views along its length look out over the Vale of Aylesbury.
There is a charge for vehicle access within the forest, to assist in the maintenance of the woodland facilities. You can pay on-site at a machine, by mobile phone (location code 8058) or get a season ticket for a year. The woods are closed to vehicles and gates are locked at various times depending on the time of year. For more details click on the link to the right 'locking times'. The gates are opened by 8am every morning, 364 days a year. We have a car-free Christmas Day.
There are many things to do on your visit, just look at the activities on the page for more information.
For those coming to the Woodland using SatNav, please enter postcode HP22 5NQ and turn right before you pass the golf course onto the Forest Drive.
Parking charges are £1.50 for 2 hours, £3 for 2 to 4 hours and £5.50 for an all day stay.
A new iPhone App for visitors to Forestry Commission sites is also available now. It's easy to use and has a number of features including downloadable trail maps. For more information visit www.forestry.gov.uk/mobileapp
