The Wyedean Rally will be passing through the forest area at Cannop Cycle Centre on Saturday 12th November.  During this time all cycle trails will be closed.  The Cycle Centre car park will be a rally spectator car park charged for by the Rotary Club with monies raised going to local charities.  The toilets and cafe will be available.

This centre, on the site of an old colliery, is the ideal place to start your cycling adventure.

Enjoy a gentle ride through the forest on the Family Cycle Trail or test your skills on one of our MTB or downhill trails.

On your bike!

Cannop Cycle Centre is the starting point for the Forest of Dean Family Cycle Trail which consists of eleven miles of waymarked, surfaced tracks.

Two singletrack trails have been designed for cyclists looking for a more adventurous ride. The 4 mile red grade (difficult) Freeminer Trail and the 7 mile blue grade (moderate) Verderers' Trail.

For experienced riders only, there are a number of 'downhill' trails and an uplift service available, Flyupdownhill, for transport to the top of the slopes.

From 12th September tree harvesting will be carried out in the area around the Cycle Centre as part of the Forestry Commissions normal forest management.

We aim to keep disruption to a minimum and keep you informed of closures.

All official trails are now open until Monday 31st October, however there maybe some brash or surface damage to some of the trails so please take care.

Please help us by adhering to all signage diversions and harvesting staff during this period so we can get the trails open as quickly as possible.

Please check the FC website and other local bike social media for updates.

For the safety of walkers and wildlife, please keep all off-road mountain biking to the Sallowvallets MTB area behind the Cycle Centre.  In the wider forest, you can explore using hard surfaced tracks, but please do not ride off-road or on waymarked walking trails.

As well as hiring bikes, Pedalabikeaway also offers refreshments, toilets and a bike workshop. Contact Pedalabikeaway on 01594 860065 for further details.

Beechenhurst Lodge is a short 5 minute cycle ride over the bridge at the start of the Family Cycle Trail.

We cycled on the family trail and cannot fault the trail at all. Unfortunately when we got back down at app 2pm and tried to buy food it was all sold out. This really put a downer on what would have been a brilliant day out.Would have thought weekends would be busy times therefore catered for accordingly

I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed your cycling but sorry to hear of your disappointment with food availability at the café - we will advise the café tenant of your comments. I have not heard of this happening before, thank you for letting us know.

Cant find a postcode on your website to put in my satnav - always frustrating on websites when this is not there as most people would require this these days who are unfamiliar with the location. Unless its there but I just cant see it?

Postcode for Satnav?, 11/Aug/2016
