Cae'n y Coed

About Cae'n y Coed

The field in the woods with space to play: Cae’n y Coed means ‘field in the woods’ and is the starting point of the Craig Forys trail.  Why not try our waymarked trail to get a taste of the woods and mountains?  We planted the hillside above this car park with trees from around the world in the 1930s. We call this the ‘forest garden’ or arboretum.

Craig Forys: Moderate circular walk.  200ft/60m initial climb.  1 hour 1.4m/2.3km.  After a climb through woodland, the route eases with Moel Siabod coming into view. A short diversion takes you to a fantastic viewpoint over the Snowdonia skyline.  It’s all downhill from here back to the car park.
