Blaenafon Woodland

About Blaenafon Woodland

This popular woodland has a large open area for relaxing, with a pond and views over to the Severn.  There are footpaths, tracks to walk and parking available.

The Cwmafon beech trees are the most westerly native beechwood and were grown here for use in the Dan y Capel limekiln (also in the woodland).

The woodland is a mixture of conifer and broadleaves mainly Beech. The long term aim of Blaenavon is to be returned to native broadleaf woodlands.

How to get there:

Blaenafon, Pontypool, and Bryn Mawr are the nearest towns or villages.
