Hendre Park

About Hendre Park

Hendre car park offers drivers of horse boxes to park along the forest road where the roads forks to the right, turning area is available at the end of the track. The car park also offers hitching tails and picnic tables to make this a memorable carriage drive experience.

How to get there:

Hendre Park is in Dyfnant Wood which is part of Dyfnant. Llangadfan and Llanfyllin is the nearest town or village.

The Hendre Car Park for the carriage drivers is located on the B4395. Access is gained from the A458 (Mallwyd to Welshpool) at Llangadfan or off the A490 (Llanfyllin to Welshpool) at Llanfyllin taking the B4393 and then left on to the B4395 signposted to Lliwdiarth and Pontllogel. The turning is by Hendre cottages.

What's of interest

There are two carriage driving routes currently available. The Hendre Pleasure Drive and the Glasfryn Marathon. The Hendre Pleasure Drive is ideally suitable for a gentle drive and the less experienced drivers will enjoy the opportunity. The route is 8km (5 miles) long. The Glasfryn Marathon is a challenged drive ideally suited for the more experienced driver and the fitter horse. The route is 15km (11 miles) long.
