Penaran woodland is a solid conifer woodland that is in the process of being reconverted into moorland for Black Grouse habitat.

How to get there:

Penaran is part of Penllyn. Llanuwchllyn is the nearest town or village.

From the north:

The entrance to the forest is on the right hand side of the A494, 2 miles approx from LLanuwchllyn village.

From the south:

Entrance for the forest is on the left side of the A494, 8 miles approx from Dolgellau town.
