About Coed y Garth
A Forestry Commission Wales trailhead board, on the side of the Mawddach Trail, marks the entrance point into this elevated stand of regenerating broadleaf woodland, situated midway between the villages of Penmaenpool and Morfa Mawddach. There is no access to the starting point by car.
How to get there:
Coed y Garth is in Coed y Brenin.
Coed y Garth is on the side of the Mawddach estuary and can be accessed by walking or cycling along the Mawddach Trail from either of the Snowdonia National Park car parks at Penmaenpool (4.5km to the North East) or Morfa Mawddach (4.5km to the South West). Both of these car parks can be found just off the A493 between Dolgellau and Fairbourne.
Dolgellau, Penmaenpool, Arthog, Fairbourne, and Barmouth are the nearest towns or villages.
