Coed y Brenin Visitor Centre is the focal point in the beautiful Forest Park. It is renowned for its world class mountain bike trails that offer exhilarating and challenging riding in a woodland setting. There is a cosy restaurant/café and cycle shop (sales, repair, hire) on the site - opening hours as listed. There are information leaflets on a number of family walking trails for those on foot, and there is an all-ability play area and all-ability trail leading to the riverside picnic site located next to the visitor centre. Opening Hours: Forestry Commission Ranger Service, 7 days per week 09.30-16.30, 01341 440747. The "Cafe" is open 7 days per week, from 10am until 4pm Mon to Fri and 9am until 5pm Sat and Sun. "Beics Brenin" - The bike shop/hire centre- Winter opening : 5 Day days (closed tues/wed), 10am – 5pm or dusk. Enquiries: 01341 440728.

How to get there:

Coed y Brenin Visitor Centre is in Coed y Brenin. Dolgellau, Porthmadog, Bala, Barmouth, and Machynlleth are the nearest towns or villages.

East off the A470, 8 miles North of Dolgellau just North of Ganllwyd, South of Trawsfynydd. Follow the brown tourist signs.

Orienteering Please be aware that there will be frequent heavy wagons passing through the overflow car park, Mon-Fri, for the next few weeks. Please proceed with caution and follow all signage. Two orienteering courses, both starting and finishing at the Visitor Centre. An easy (yellow) route, suitable for beginners/children and two harder routes on the longer course (red and light green). Maps and information available from the visitor centre.
Play Area All- ability facilities built on three tiers, including a 1.5 tonne turning stone!

Have been going here for years. It is a truly stunning place. Brilliant for mountain biking, walking and the visitor centre has excellent facilities.
