Coed y Brenin Visitor Centre
 

An AERIAL DVD of the Forest Park and TRAIL GUIDES for the Mountain Biking and Walking Trails can be found by following the links on the right hand side of the page.

Coed y Brenin Visitor Centre is the focal point in the beautiful Forest Park. It is renowned for its world class mountain bike trails that offer exhilarating and challenging riding in a woodland setting. There is a cosy restaurant/café and cycle shop (sales, repair, hire) on the site - opening hours as listed. There are information leaflets on a number of family walking trails for those on foot, and there is an all-ability play area and all-ability trail leading to the riverside picnic site located next to the visitor centre. Opening Hours: Forestry Commission Ranger Service, 7 days per week 09.30-16.30, 01341 440747. The Restaurant/Cafe "Bwyd y Brenin" is open 7 days per week, from 10am until 4pm Mon to Fri and 9am until 5pm Sat and Sun. Enquiries: 01341 440742. The bike shop/hire centre - "Beics Brenin" - June 1st to 30th September (+ Easter and Spring Bank Holiday): 7 day opening, minimum 10am – 5pm - 1st October to 31st May: 5 Day opening, 10am – 5pm or dusk. Closed Tue & Wed. dusk. Enquiries: 01341 440728.

How to get there:

Coed y Brenin Visitor Centre is in Coed y Brenin. Dolgellau, Porthmadog, Bala, Barmouth, and Machynlleth are the nearest towns or villages.

East off the A470, 8 miles North of Dolgellau just North of Ganllwyd, South of Trawsfynydd. Follow the brown tourist signs.

There are 4 easy access all-ability trails in the Forest Park, at the visitor centre, Tyn y Groes, Glasdir and the Forest Garden.

Fishing Salmon, sea trout and brown trout fishing available on the Afon Eden- permits from Prysor Angling Association
Orienteering Two orienteering courses, both starting and finishing at the Visitor Centre. An easy (yellow) route, suitable for beginners/children and two harder routes on the longer course (red and light green). Maps and information available from the visitor centre.
Play Area All- ability facilities built on three tiers, including a 1.5 tonne turning stone!
