About Leyden road entrance

Leyden road entrance is primarily for Forestry vehicle access and is not designed especially for visitor parking.

There is however enough space for a small number of cars to be parked carefully off from the public road and away from the gate into the forest.

The forest's informal paths can be rough and uneven.

Selm Muir wood has a wealth of wildlife to discover. It is especially good for spotting woodland birds.

How to get there:

Leyden road entrance is in Selm Muir Wood.
From Kirknewton, take Leyden road for approximatley 1.5 miles. You will come to the forest entrance on the right-hand side.
Kirknewton and Livingston are the nearest towns or villages.
