Recreation at Camilty Forest
 

Camilty Forest straddles the Lang Whang (A70) amongst beautiful, wild scenery. It lies on the edge of the Pentland Hills Regional Park and has a car park with a short grass path.

How to get there:

West Calder and Livingston are the nearest towns or villages.

From Edinburgh take the A70 (Lang Whang or Lanark Road). About 12 miles from Edinburgh and past the Harperrig reservoir you will find the forest spanning both sides of the A70.

There are short grass paths mown in the summer beside the burn and informal short trails in the forest. The paths are unsurfaced and so can be muddy and uneven.
