Milton is an excellent start point for exploring Loch Ard Forest on foot, bicycle or horseback. You can follow a waymarked walk and cycle route along the south shore of Loch Ard, or simply explore the forest road network.

Walking trails

How to get there:

Milton is in Loch Ard Forest which is part of Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. Aberfoyle is the nearest town or village.

Follow the B829 west from Aberfoyle for a mile and a half. Turn left over the River Forth and onto the forest road. Follow the signs to a new car park just under a mile into the forest. Additional parking for horseboxes is provided 200 metres further on.
