About Holmesyke reedbeds
Surfaced paths start on East Forth Road (known locally as the Mill Dykes Road). Start your walk around the reedbed from one of these entrances.
The surfaced paths round the reedbed are recommended for walking, cycling and horse riding.
You can also take a longer walk from here on grass paths in the woodland.
This award-winning reedbed was built by the Coal Authority. Check out the information panels on site.
Accessibility
The Reedbeds Trail is featured on the Phototrails website:
The site provides accessibility information on a network of woodland paths and trails, allowing people to make informed choices about which sites to visit.
How to get there:
Holmesyke reedbeds is in West Forth Woodland.
Leaving in a northerly direction from Forth Village, turn right at the crossroads with the B715 Climpy Road.
Follow Manse Road until a minor road (East Forth Road) heads downhill to the right, opposite the play park. After the bungalows you will see the parking layby on the right-hand side before the tall trees.
Park here and walk down the minor road about 300m to the path entrance beyond the burn and vehicle gate. Be careful of traffic using this minor road.
Forth is the nearest town or village.
