About Wilsontown Ironworks entrance

The access point is found at the bend in the minor road across from The Glen car park. The gate is at the gap in the old railway banking where a bridge used to be.

From 1779 - 1842 there was an ironworks located here called the Wilsontown Ironworks.

Please note that there will be temporary disruption to footpaths during November and December.  This is to allow us to repair the Quality Row path after recent works around the Ironworks area.  Contact us for further information.

How to get there:

Wilsontown Ironworks entrance is in Heathland Forest which is part of Heathland Forest. Forth is the nearest town or village.

From the A706 take the B7016 signposted Wilsontown. Go straight ahead at the bend, and park in The Glen car park on the right-hand side.

Walk along the side of the public road past the Moose (Mousewater), being careful of traffic, and enter the forest at the bend in the road where you can see that there used to be a railway bridge.
