Heathland Forest
 

A large forest area with lots to see and explore. Great choice of walks both short and long, brilliant wildlife spotting opportunities and plenty of relaxation to be had.

How to get there:

Forth and Wilsontown are the nearest towns or villages.

Join the A706 from Junction 4 of the M8. Proceed south along the A706 towards Lanark. Take the B7016 north of Forth and follow signs for Wilsontown.

walking There are miles of tracks to follow in Heathland forest. 2 waymarked paths start at the Wilsontown Ironworks entrance near the car park. A leaflet is available on request that shows the paths and car parks.
cycling Some tracks are recommended for those wishing to explore the forest on bikes. Contact the office for further information.
horse riding Some tracks are recommended for those wishing to explore the forest on horseback. Contact the office for further information.
