Eat your picnic here and enjoy the panoramic views across the Cheviots and the Border. A short, steep walk from the Lower Cheviot car park takes you down to the ponds.

How to get there:

Lower Cheviot is in Hyndlee Forest which is part of Forests of the Scottish Borders. Hawick and Bonchester Bridge & Newcastleton are the nearest towns or villages.

From Hawick head to Bonchester Bridge on the A6088. Turn right on to the B6357 south towards Newcastleton for approximately four miles, past Hell's Hole, Hyndlee forest entrance and Piet's Nest car park and the Lower Cheviot is on the left hand side.
