About Glentress Peel

Glentress Peel in Glentress Forest is the gateway to the Tweed Valley Forest Park.

Please note, due to construction of the new Go Ape adventure course, weekday diversions will be in place on trails throughout Glentress from Tuesday 29th May 2012. The following trail sections will be diverted Mon-Fri until 13th June 2012 but will remain open at weekends. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Walking
Partial sections of Buzzard's Nest Trail
Glen Trail - partial closures of Dougie Bank.

Diversions will be in place to direct walkers and bikers.

How to get there:

Glentress Peel is in Glentress Forest which is part of Forests of the Scottish Borders.
The entrance to the Peel is one and a half miles east of Peebles on the A72. When you turn into Glentress, follow signs for the Peel car park, which is on the right.
Peebles and Innerleithen are the nearest towns or villages.

Walking 25 miles of walking trails offering great views.
Cycling Around 50 miles of world-class mountain bike trails
HorseRiding.gif Horse riding is available on shared, multi-use forest trails.
Wildlife Activities Tweed Valley Wild Watch is located here, with remote viewing of the local ospreys and details of other wildlife in the forest park.
Other Activities There are 10 brass rubbing points around the Ponds walking trail.
