Tree in the forest

Bennachie is one of the best known and most popular places to visit in north east Scotland.

Bennachie is a distinctive hill with several tops and can be seen from miles around.

The Bennachie Centre is an excellent start to your visit. While you're there learn about the history of the area and the people who lived and worked on the hill. It’s a great place for children of all ages - there's lots to learn about and play with.

The Bennachie Discovery Trail Phototrail is now online on the Fieldfare Trust website. Phototrails provides detailed accessibility information for trails throughout the UK.

There is some tree felling work going on around the Bennachie Centre. Please obey any signs that you see as they are there for your safety.

Note; toilets at Back'o'Bennachie closed until further notice - Portaloos are now on site

Semi-permanent orienterering is CLOSED till further notice.

what a wonderful walk, we took 3 kids all under 4, 2 of whom made it up Mither tap! unfortunately my youngest (2) and i had to stay about 100m from the top as our poor 15yr old dog decided he had gone far enough, was a great mitivational spot for all the other walkers as we cheered them on! i did get my chance to go to the top when hubby and twins came back down, what a tremendous view, well wortht he climb and made even better by the blue skies and fantastic weather (16.5 degrees and in march too) would recommend to everybody, determined to try a different path every few weeks now! the Discovery trail was brilliant too, the kids had a great time doing the rubbings on the way round and the coolness of the trees! the Center is fab too, lots for the kids to see and do and play with, a great day indeed had by all, thanks you to all who keep the hill and centre in fantastic condition!
