Best viewed from Lochcarron. A hillside of mixed woodland offering mixed green, gold and red as the birch, ash and oak change. Ochre hazelnuts may be gathered if using the small parking areas through the forest. (Grid ref 867345 and 887545.) Stromewood offers short trails and viewpoints overlooking Strome Carronach, Loch Carron and the ruined castle (Strome). Car park accessed from Stromeferry (no ferry) road. Grid ref 863346.

How to get there:

Stromeferry, Achmore, Balmacara, Kyle Of Lochalsh, and Plockton are the nearest towns or villages.

Strome wood is adjacent to the A890 on the slopes and hills above Stromeferry.
