About The North Face

The North Face is a popular access point to both Leanachan forest and Lochaber’s most popular hill.

The ‘North face’ refers to the tall cliffs of Ben Nevis (4409 feet), Britain’s highest mountain.

This is a popular place for hill walkers and climbers to start their route up onto Carn Mor Dearg and Ben Nevis, up the Allt a’ Mhullinn path.

You can also access the Witch's Trail mountain bike facilities from here, though the formal start is from Aonoch Mor car park. Go to the Witch's Trail page.

How to get there:

The North Face is in Leanachan.
Follow the A82 approximately three miles North of Fort William and four miles South of Spean Bridge. Take the junction marked ‘Torlundy’ over the railway bridge and turn right at the Forestry Commission sign up the forest road.
Torlundy is the nearest town or village.
