Kylerhea Otter Hide

(Average user rating5 unrated 5/5)

About Kylerhea Otter Hide

The Otter Hide carpark is set in a spectacular location with fantastic views across the Kylerhea narrows to Glenelg and the Kintail mountains.

On a nice day, this is a beautiful place for a picnic. From here there is a short walk along the forest road to the viewing hide. There is also a short loop walk through a very attractive area behind the hide.

Not always visible - look out for otters on the shoreline from the hide. However, on most days you should be able to see both grey and common seals and a variety of sea birds.

How to get there:

Kylerhea Otter Hide is in Kylerhea.
Either take the summer ferry from Glenelg to Kylerhea or, from the A850 on Skye, three and a half miles west of the Skye bridge, take the road to Kylerhea.
Near Kylerhea and at the signpost, turn north on the small track to the Otter Haven car park.
Kylerhea, Glenelg, Kinloch, Kyleakin, Broardford, and Isle of Skye are the nearest towns or villages.
