Inshriach Forest

Inshriach Forest covers a large area of land (approximately 8,000 acres) between the A9 and the west side of the Cairngorms. It lies between the estates of Rothiemurchus and Glen Feshie and contains some small but pristine remnants of the ancient Caledonian Pine Wood which covered most of Scotland after the last ice age. The forest also holds several waymarked walking trails, cycle routes and cross-country ski trails which offer magnificent views over the woodland to the mountains beyond.

How to get there:

Aviemore and Kingussie are the nearest towns or villages.
OS Grid Reference: NH835023

This forest is easily accessible from either Kingussie or Aviemore by car or bike by following the B970 road. There is no public transport which directly passes this forest but it is only 4 - 5 miles from the above villages.
