Glen Nevis

About Glen Nevis

Nestled at the base of Ben Nevis, the forest stretches for some five miles on the west side of the glen.

A productive woodland with many varied types of tree and some excellent walks as well. The West Highland Way's final three miles are in the wood - providing an excellent way to end a long distance path.

As part of the Nevis Partnership, the Forestry Commission is in the process of making some exciting changes to the Glen Nevis forest.  Braveheart car park is being extended, a new path is being constructed from the top of the Peat Track to Cow Hill Path and the Peat Track itself is being realigned to avoid some of the very steep sections.

How to get there:

Fort William is the nearest town or village.

From both the south and north, follow the A82 to Fort William. The Glen is well sign posted.

Once you have left the roundabout at the woollen mill Glen Nevis wood is only 1.5m further up the glen. Sign posts for the Braveheart car park are obvious and can be found on your right-hand side.
