Glen Nevis

Nestled at the base of Ben Nevis the forest stretches for some 5 miles on the west side of the glen. A productive woodland with many varied types of tree and some excellent walks as well. The West Highland Way has its last 3 miles in the wood and it is an excellent way to end a long distance path.

How to get there:

Fort William is the nearest town or village.

From both the South and North follow the A82 to Fort William. The Glen is well sign posted. Once you have left the roundabout at the woollen mill Glen Nevis wood is only 1.5m further up the glen. Sign posts for Braveheart car park are obvious and can be found on your right hand side.

What's of interest
As part of the Nevis Partnership, the Forestry Commission is in the process of making some exciting changes to the Glen Nevis forest. Braveheart Car Park is being extended, a new path is being constructed from the top of the Peat Track to Cow Hill Path and the Peat Track itself is being realigned to avoid some of the very steep sections.
