Achnashellach (North)

Colour rating today: going yellow going yellow
Dark majestic pines line the Glen with a dappled mantle of golden yellows from the native birch nestling amongst the pines. A flash of red can be seen as the rowans turn from gold to russet to red, outlasting the shiny berries used as an autumn feast by the forest animals. Several viewpoints along the road, to appreciate the scale use the car park at Lair to get out and gain a more intimate appreciation of one of our more westerly bastions of the Caledonian Pinewoods.
