About South Loch Ness Carpark

The carparks on the south side of Loch Ness in Erchite forest all have picnic tables, views and access to the loch-side.

From this carpark, there is a view of Urquhart Casle on the other side of Loch Ness and a short walk to the ruin of the 'Change House', a nineteenth centuary staging post for travellers.

How to get there:

South Loch Ness Carpark is in Erchite which is part of Great Glen Forest.
From Inverness, take the B862 to Dores, then the B852 to Inverfarigaig. There are seven carparks along this road. The largest is around five miles south of Dores.
There is an infrequent bus service between Inverness and Fort Augustus.
Dores and Inverfarigaig are the nearest towns or villages.
