About Glencoe Lochan

The woodland was planted by Lord Strathcona in the nineteenth century in an attempt to recreate the Pacific NorthWest for his homesick native-American wife. A lochan nestles in the centre of the wood surrounded by majestic conifers and rugged mountains.

Please follow instructions from operators, observe all warning and prohibition signs and be aware of commercial traffic using the forest road network.

How to get there:

Glencoe Lochan is part of Glencoe. Glencoe is the nearest town or village.

Turn off the A82(T) at Glencoe village. Pass through the village and over the River Coe bridge. The entrance to the woodland is signposted on your left a short distance later.

Lovely spot especially in snow even if crampons were needed on some of the paths.
