About Allan Breck

A conifer plantation that has views across Loch Linnhe but it is most important for its historical connections to the Appin Murder.

The 250th anniversary of the Appin Murder in 2002 was commerorated with the opening of the Murder Cairn. Why not visit other sites on the 'Appin Murder Trail' - Duror Forest and the hanging site at Cnap a'Chaolais, just over the Ballachulish bridge.

How to get there:

Allan Breck is part of Glencoe. Ballachulish is the nearest town or village.

From either Ballachulish or Duror, walk or cycle along the Sustrans route (that runs alongside the A828 Oban road). The site is signposted Leitir Mhor, on the opposite side of the main road to the Sustrans route, between Glenachulish and Kentallen. Their is no vehicle parking available.
