Aldie Burn
 

This mixed conifer forest follows Aldie Burn. This forest area is home to the elusive capercaillie which thrives in mixed pinewoods such as this one.

How to get there:

Aldie Burn is part of Easter Ross. Tain is the nearest town or village.

From the A9 Tain Bypass take the road signposted Scotsburn. About 2 miles down this road turn right following FE signs for the forest walk.

What's of interest
Two attractive forest walk loops on the edge of the Aldie Burn pass through pleasant open woodland with scattered gnarled old Scots Pine. Both walks have recently been upgraded to "Countryside for All" standards.
