Sawmill Plantation is part of the larger Devilla Forest.

The car park at the end of Rig Head Farm road is now closed.  This is due to operational works for James Callendar and Sons Sawmill.

How to get there:

Sawmill Plantation is part of Devilla Forest. Kincardine and Alloa are the nearest towns or villages.

Access gained from the A985 Kincardine Bridge to Dunfermline road.

area is great if you avoid dog walking times and weekends when you can be passing quite a few people. Pity some of my favourite walks have recently been ruined with "easy access" work, preferred it when they were wild - there was plenty of easy access before because the main paths are very wide. I suspect a grant was used to spoil the unspoilt bits :)

Sounds like Bilberries...or blaeberries...if they look like blueberries that's probably what they are. Very tasty!

What are the low growing bushes that grow near the road in the forest? They look as though they could have berries on them ....
