About Blairadam Wood

Blairadam has now re-opened with the exception of the Kelty Glen Trail. Visitors are asked to exercise caution as some blocked paths may still exist due to storm damage (Updated 23 January 2012)

An attractive mixed woodland of mighty spruces and broadleaved beech woodland. Highlights are the Glen and Keltyhill Glen trails.

The eastern half of the forest was part of an important designed landscape centered around Blairadam House. In its heyday the estate was visited by Sir Walter Scott.

How to get there:

Blairadam Wood is part of Blairadam Forest. Kelty is the nearest town or village.

Take junction 4 from the M90 and head west along the B914. Take first entrance on right-hand side and follow road through wood for just over half a mile to the car park.

I visited for the first time today and will definitely be back. Toddler and dog loved playing on the tracks and in the trees, tracks were pushchair friendly and its the kind of place we can bring bikes and dog (and kiddy bikes too when they are a bit older)
