Smashing wee wood and generally very quiet. lots of birds, for instance bullfinches, willow warblers and woodpeckers. Saw a few deer as well. Would be good to have information signs.

A fabulous walk when you find the entrance as it is even a "big secret" to the locals, who nearly all pointed me in different directions. However, the dogs eventually loved the freedom and the new forest smells. It is a very pleasant walk in a very diverse planting, with pathways that mostly are easy to follow. Noteably squirrels, deer and a hawk all made their apperance to us. I would think it fine for kids although a bit too far for theyounger ones to walk the complete trail, perhaps. Only down-side is the poor parking if you need to take your car. I thought it too close to a very sharp bend and not much by way of off-road spaces - or was that the wrong entrance ... again?!

There is some off-road parking at the main entrance to Limerigg Woods in the village. We can provide a map to help you find your way around here as there is no leaflet produced for this Forest. Please contact the Office for further information if you would like to come back for another visit.
