About Brownmoor

The waymarked trails on Brownmoor have been removed, you can still access the forest under the Scottish outdoor access code.

This small wood is perched on a prominent hillside outside historic Ecclefechan, just off the M74

How to get there:

Brownmoor is part of Forests of the Solway Coast. Annan, Ecclefechan, Lockerbie, and Gretna are the nearest towns or villages.

Exit the A74(M) at junction 19. Heading east through Ecclefechan, turn right onto a minor road just before going under the motorway. There is limited parking at the end of this road. Cross several fields using the stiles provided to reach the entrance to the forest and the start of the walks.

The nearest train station is in Lockerbie.
