About Knockman Wood
A lovely walk whatever the weather!
Enjoy a relaxing stroll in a wood steeped in history. If you are quiet you may be lucky enough to see Fallow or Roe Deer grazing and on a warm day, keep a look out for butterflies and the pleasant songs of the many birds that make this wood their home.
How to get there:
Knockman Wood is in Galloway Forest Park.
From Newton Stewart follow the minor public road from Minnigaff in Newton Stewart towards Glentrool visitor centre. Look out for a brown tourist sign on the left hand side signalling Knockman wood. The entrance to the car park is on the right hand side of the road. Head through the gates (please close behind you) the car park is situated along the forest track on your right hand side.
Newton Stewart is the nearest town or village.
