Castlemaddy Wood
 

This is a big conifer woodland that has many heritage features scattered thoughout. The Polmaddy burn winds its way lazily through the woodland which opens up to afford wonderful views of the surrounding countryside.

How to get there:

Dalry St Johns Town and Carsphairn are the nearest towns or villages.

From Newton Stewart
Take the A712 signposted New Galloway. From New Galloway take the A713 signposted Carsphairn, Castlemaddy is opposite the little village of Polmaddy.
