Inverinan Forest

Colour rating today: turning golden turning golden
The trees along Loch Aweside are at their autumn best; a thousand colours and shades greet you from gold, copper, bronze, brown, yellow and green. The drive along the road to Inverinan is a real joy in Autumn, breathtaking far-reaching views up and down Loch Awe - "The Jewel of Argyll" and Scotland's longest loch are complemented by up-close views of trees changing colour and texture. Particularly attractive is an avenue of Rauli trees on the roadside before you reach the Inverinan Glen Trail. The Rauli trees are native to Chile and are turning from deep green to yellow and red as Autumn advances. The Inverinan Glen Trail is a fantastic walk which leads you over one of Argylls ancient drove roads and past tumbling Highland waterfalls, pools and gorges.
