About Gleann a Gealbhan

Cycling

This small car park gives access to Ardnoe cycle route . From the car park this trail follows forest roads into the forests of West Knapdale.

This cycle trail has outstanding views over Crinan harbour, Jura and many other islands to the west.

Walking

A short walk from here takes you to the ruins of Arichonan township.

Well worth a visit as it is still in remarkable condition. Fantastic views down Caol Scotnish.

How to get there:

Gleann a Gealbhan is in Knapdale Forest.
From Lochgilphead, follow the A816 north for two and a half miles then turn left onto B841 for Cairnbaan and Crinan.
At Bellanoch turn left onto the B8025 for Tayvallich. Druim an duin is just over two miles along this road.
From Oban, follow the A816 south to one mile beyond Kilmartin then turn right onto the B8025 taking you to Bellanoch.
Turn right at the Canal bridge at Bellanoch, then take the next left onto the road for Tayvallich for just over two miles.
Lochgilphead is the nearest town or village.
