About Inverawe Forest

Inverawe is a mixed woodland with quiet forest roads which are suitable for walking, cycling and horse-riding.  There is also a car park for all forest users, managed by Forestry Commission Scotland.

The Argyll Field Archers club operates two field archery courses and an all-abilities archery practice area in the forest. For further information, please visit www.argyllfieldarchers.org.uk.

Safety while archery is taking place

Red flags are flown beside the forest road and at the car park when archery is in progress.  At these times, please avoid the shaded map areas shown on signage at the flag poles and keep to the forest roads.

How to get there:

Taynuilt is the nearest town or village.

From Oban, follow the A85 east for 12 miles, passing through the village of Taynuilt. Approximately one and a half miles beyond the end of the village, turn left after crossing the bridge over the River Awe, onto a minor road signposted to Inverawe Smokehouses.

After one mile, turn right onto a forest road.

The car park is located 350 yards along this road on the right-hand side.

If coming from the east, just before crossing the River Awe at Bridge of Awe, look for the minor road on the right signposted to Inverawe Smokehouses. After one mile, turn right onto a forest road.

The car park is located 350 yards along this road on the right-hand side.
