Camasrainich Wood
 

The site contains a mixture of woodland types, from the policy woodlands of the former Hafton House Estate, the long established woodland of plantation origin (Camasrainich Wood), to the semi-natural birch and alder woodlands, and a more recent pine plantation woodland to the south of the Leisure Centre.

How to get there:

Dunoon is the nearest town or village.

Follow the A82 along Loch Lomonside, the A83 to Cairndow, then follow the A815 to Dunoon. By ferry, from Glasgow, follow the M8 to Gourock then take the ferry across to Dunoon.

What's of interest
The site is a mixed site flaura. Of particular note are the areas of oak woodland with a ground flora of bluebells, wood sorrel, great wood-rush and honeysuckle. In the other areas there is opportunities for blaeberry and heather. A quite stroll through the woodland you could easily come upon red squirrels or frequently you could spot roe deer.
