About Glen Orchy and Glen Lochy

The cycle route through Glen Orchy, between Bridge of Orchy and Eas Urchaidh is currently closed and will be for a number of months. We will update you if it is to re-open. We apologise for the inconvenience. (As at January 2012)

The forests of Glen Orchy and Glen Lochy provide great opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts and amateur naturalists alike.

There are nature trails through ancient oakwoods and good walking into remote country.

There are two remnants of the old Caledonian Pine Forest which are now protected as Caledonian Forest Reserves.

The West Highland Way passes through a corner of the forest and there are riverside picnic sites for warm summer days.

How to get there:

Dalmally is the nearest town or village.

From Oban follow the A85 eastwards to Dalmally. Glen Orchy can be accessed along the single track road two miles east of Dalmally. Alternatively, follow the A85 into Glen Lochy.

From the south, follow the A85 to Tyndrum. For Glen Lochy turn left immediately after Tyndrum (A85). For Glen Orchy, head north on the A82 towards Bridge of Orchy.
