Cnoc nan Ghabar

Cnoc nan Ghabar wood is bounded by the Kilbrannan Sound to the East and the B842 road to the west. A programme of harvesting and replanting, which has been in progress for many years, has produced a forest with a wide range of habitiats for Wildlife. This makes Carradale a good place to see raptors like buzzards and kestrels which feed on the voles that breed in the grasses around young plantations.

How to get there:

Cnoc nan Ghabar is part of Carradale. Carradale is the nearest town or village.

From Lochgilphead take the A83 south to Kennacraig then the B842 running down the eastern side of the Kintyre peninsula to Carradale Village.
