Barcaldine
 

Barcaldine Forest area sits on the seaboard of North Argyll overlooking the Firth of Lorne with views to the Morvern penninsula and and the Isles of Mull and Lismore. The land here is well suited to forestry with groves of large specimen trees.

Cycle routes and footpaths allow visitors to explore the forest with ease through stands with a wide variety of species.

Car parks at: Sutherland's Grove, Beinn Lora, Eas Na Circe and The Sandpit (Am Maoilean).

Waymarked walks and trails at: Sutherland's Grove, Beinn Lora and Am Maoilean.

FOREST OPERATIONS

There are forest operations taking place adjacent to the forest road on part of the Coffin Route walk and the blue Am Maoilean cycle route.

The road remains open, but please observe and obey ALL prohibition and warning signs and follow instructions from operators.

Please be aware of timber lorries using the forest roads.

How to get there:

Benderloch is the nearest town or village.

From the south, east and west follow the A828 towards Appin and Fort William.

From the north follow the A828 towards Oban until you reach the village of Barcaldine.

Nearest railway station - Connel.

By bus - contact the local bus area offices - click on the link on the right hand side for timetable information
