Rest and Be Thankful Carpark
 

Running up Glen Croe, the road crosses & re-crosses the river in the crag-confined floor of the glen before climbing steadily up the valley flank to its head on the pass of the Rest-and-be-Thankful, at 246m (800ft). The "Rest", as it is often called, is a vital communications link for much of mid and south Argyll: it takes the traveller through to the old county town of Inveraray.

How to get there:

Rest and Be Thankful Carpark is in Glen Croe which is part of Argyll Forest Park. Arrochar is the nearest town or village.

By road from Glasgow follow the A82 along Loch Lomondside. Then follow the A83 over the Rest & Be Thankful,towards Oban, Inveraray & Dunoon.
