I first went to Ardgartan with my grandparents in 1940. I have a photograph!! My family had a caravan there all summer every year from 1950 until the '60s. Many happy memories of the "chalet", the toilet block and Es Grant the warden. Learned to swim there and to handle a small boat. Feuds with the dreaded Caravan Club who eventually went off and set up their own camp site near the youth hostel!!!
Happy days!!!
Good luck Ardgartan and thank you.
