Cambus O' May

This Highland wood is well worth a visit. There are trails for disabled visitors leading to view points and past shallow lochans and picnic benches, as well as narrow 'natural' paths twisting between Scots pines and boulders for the more active. A permanent orienteering course offers visitors the chance to explore the forest more fully. The area has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) for its geological features, and recent timber work has improved the structure of the wood.

Paths

All the paths within this wood are waymarked as footpaths or as all-ability paths. These paths are vulnerable to erosion if the surface is damaged, such as by bike wheels or horses hooves. Please respect our efforts to make this wood suitable for less able people and for families by not cycling or horse riding here.

If you leave the paths and go into the forest during the spring and summer, please keep your dog under very close control - either at heel or on a lead. This is to help protect capercaillie.
