Gartly Moor Forest

This forest has three cycle routes and a walk. The walk takes you up onto Wishach hill. The cycle routes mostly follow forest roads and give good views of the Bennachie ridge to the south and of farmland and the hills near Gartly to the north. The two mile walk up Wishach hill is an excellent opportunity to see old slate quarries.

Leaflets are avaiable from the Forest District (see contact details below).

How to get there:

Insch and Huntly are the nearest towns or villages.

Take the minor road through Insch and past Dunnydeer hill. Follow the road for approximately 3 miles. Gartly Moor car park is on the left hand side.
