About Oatyhill Entrance

The main car park has room for about six cars. Please do not block the barrier, but leave room for emergency access. There are two other smaller car parks around the wood with room for three cars.

There are no waymarked walks within this wood, but the wood is small enough that you can explore it yourself without getting lost.

You can download a map of the forest from the 'What's of Interest' panel on the right of this page.

How to get there:

Oatyhill Entrance is in Denlethen Wood. Laurencekirk is the nearest town or village.

From Laurencekirk, head south through the village on the A937. Before your reach the dual carriageway there is an unclassified public road to the right. Take this road and follow it until it crosses the rialway line. After the railway line take the turn off immediately on your right, down a track. The entrance to the wood is roughly 200m down the track on your right.

Dog Walkers - a small percentage of dog walkers are spoiling this wood for everyone else. Please do not allow your dog to foul the paths or the areas of short grass. If it does, please bag the mess up and take it home with you, or place it in the dog bin at one of the entrances.
