Scolty Car Park

Some of the trails are closed for harvesting and track improvement from 1 September for three weeks. Please obey signs for your own safety.

This very popular woodland car park gives access to four waymarked walks routes, and is especially popular with families and local people. There is also a waymarked link onto the longer Blackhall Loop Trail, for those who want to explore the forest further.

How to get there:

Scolty Car Park is in Scolty Woodland Park which is part of Blackhall Forest. Auchattie, Banchory, and Strachan are the nearest towns or villages.

The car park is roughly 1.75 km from the traffic lights in Banchory. Take the B976 south at the traffic lights, cross over the River Dee, take the first public road to the right, then the next public road to the left. Near the top of the hill turn right along a track past the Scolty sign board, and take the next track to the right again past another sign board. The car park is on your left roughly 30m along this track.
