About Countesswells

This small wood is one of the most popular in the whole forest district! There are three waymarked circular walks which lead you through a variety of woodland from the huge mature conifers to open viewpoints over the surrounding farmland.

The waymarked horse trail, which threads its way along the forest edge, is also very popular.

How to get there:

Countesswells is part of Aberdeen Woods. Kingswells, Westhill, Kirkton Of Skene, Garlogie, Peterculter, Milltimber, Bieldside, Cults, Hazlehead, and Aberdeen are the nearest towns or villages.

If driving on the A93, take the unclassified road north at the junction at Bieldside church, turn right at the T-junction then first left and the forest car park at sign posted on your left, approx. 200m from the T-junction.

If driving on the A944, turn south along the unclassified road at the Kingswells roundabout,and approx. 1.5 km from the roundabout the forest car park is sign posted on your right.
