How to get there:

Main entrance is in Alice Holt Forest Centre which is part of Alice Holt Forest. Farnham is the nearest town or village.

From the A31 turn off at Farnham onto the A325. Stay on the A325 for approximately 3 miles. From Portsmouth and Petersfield take the A325 towards Farnham. At the Halfway House Pub on the A325 turn off the main road following signs for Alice Holt Forest. The entrance is 300 yards along this road on the left. The nearest station is at Bentley. From here you can walk through Alice Holt Forest to the Forest Centre along public rights of way. Alternatively take the train to Farnham and catch a bus to Bucks Horn Oak.

Facilities:

	The Cafe on site provides hot food, hot and cold drinks, snacks and ice creams.
	Three very different play areas provide a challenge for all ages. Timberline ,provides older children with an assault course made of ropes, poles and chains suspended from the trees. Playwood, designed for younger children offers a stimulating experience themed on the forest. Finally the Habitat trail takes visitors on an exciting route around the forest punctuated with unusual play structures representing the creatures of the forest.

Activities

	Alice Holt Woodland Park is an ideal place for a walk in the woods. You can follow the waymarked trails or walk your own routes. There are four waymarked trails including the Easy Access Trail, which is suitable for wheelchair users, and the Habitat Trail, which is particularly popular with families. 	There is a popular waymarked family cycle trail through the Woodland Park. Family Cycle Trail
	There are a number of suitable routes for horse riders within the Woodland Park. A permit is required by all horse riders who wish to ride in the wood. Please contact TROT on 01622 735599 to apply for a permit (for more information see the link on the right of this page).
	Our Education Service offers a wide range of programmes of study for all ages from pre-school to post 16. The pre-school and primary programmes - Welcome to the Woods, Super Sensations, Tremendous Trees, Forest Homes, Marvellous Maps, Fantastic Forests, Planet Earth and Team Tactics - have strong National Curriculum links. Team Tactics is also suitable for all ages for any group that wishes to develop teamwork skills. At Secondary and Post 16 levels programmes are particularly relevant for geography, biology, environmental science, and leisure and recreation students. The emphasis is on involvement and learning through personal experience and study. Programmes can be tailored to meet specific requirements. The Education Service at Alice Holt has become very popular with a record number of visits. Schools and Colleges are advised to book early.
	Permits are available through Farnham Angling Society.
	Alice Holt is home to a wide range of wildlife including insects, birds and mammals, bats and roe deer, green woodpeckers and squirrels to name but a few.
	Maps for the permanent orienteering course can be purchased from the Forest Office (Monday - Friday bewteen 9am - 4 30pm) on 01420 23666.
	There are 3 bookable BBQ pitches on site, which can be hired between 10am-3pm or 4pm-close (summer months only). Please contact the Forest Office on 01420 23666 to check availability and to book.
